Milford Sound Flight

Mitre Peak is an iconic New Zealand peak and its distinctive peak inspired the crew of survey ship, the Acheron, to name it for a bishop's mitre (headwear styled as a tall pointed cleft cap).

Flying over Mitre Peak is a wonderful way to appreciate its grandeur and from the air, you will actually see that it is actually a closely grouped set of five peaks. From more accessible viewpoints, it can appear as a single point (as the crew of the Acheron may have thought).
