Milford Sound is located within the Fiordland National park, which in turn is part of the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Site. This tour option enables you to view this beautiful area by road and by air.
On your Milford Sound road trip, you’ll see Mirror Lakes, probably meet some keas (wild alpine parrots) and drive through the Homer Tunnel, an impressive engineering feat which took 20 years to complete. The Homer Tunnel is over 1.2km long and was constructed despite a Depression, World War 2 and challenging natural rock fractures.
